Math Tutoring

Confidence first. Then mastery.

Small-group math tutoring designed for the way kids actually learn — grade-appropriate, hands-on, and built to close gaps before they grow.

Math Tutoring

Math doesn’t have to be scary.

Most kids don’t struggle with math because they can’t do math. They struggle because a small gap from earlier got skipped over — and every new concept built on top of it widened the gap.

Our tutoring program is built around that fact. Small groups, targeted instruction, and time to actually work through what’s tripping a student up — before it becomes the thing that makes them dread math class.

Three programs, three age-appropriate formats, one goal: build the kind of math confidence that lasts.

Three Programs

The right format for the right age.

Each tier is designed around how kids in that grade range actually learn — attention span, complexity, and the kind of support that helps most.

Grades 1 – 3

Early Learners

30-minute sessions
High-focus math support for early learners.

Intentionally short, high-engagement lessons that align with young learners’ attention spans and developmental needs. Sessions focus on building strong foundations, confidence, and problem-solving through guided practice, hands-on activities, and math games.

  • Number sense & counting fluency
  • Hands-on math manipulatives
  • Math games & pattern recognition
  • Confidence-first approach
Enroll Grades 1–3
Grades 4 – 5

Skill Builders

60-minute sessions
Build skills, confidence, and independence.

60-minute small-group sessions focused on strengthening core math skills, closing learning gaps, and building academic confidence. Tailored instruction supports students as math concepts become more complex, with targeted reinforcement and guided practice.

  • Multiplication & division fluency
  • Fractions, decimals, and word problems
  • Homework support and gap-closing
  • Foundations for middle school math

Grades 6 – 8

Middle School Math

60-minute sessions
Targeted support for middle school success.

60-minute small-group sessions designed for the leap into more advanced math. Instruction focuses on skill reinforcement, problem-solving strategies, and building the confidence students need for middle school — and the algebra coming after it.

  • Pre-algebra & algebraic thinking
  • Ratios, proportions, geometry
  • Differentiated by skill level
  • Academic readiness for high school

Our Approach

How we actually teach math.

Every session follows a structure designed to do one thing well: turn confusion into confidence, one concept at a time.

Step 01

Identify the Gap

Every student starts with a brief skills check so tutors know exactly where to begin — no guessing, no wasted time.

Step 02

Teach the Concept

Tutors use hands-on tools, visual models, and clear explanations to make the underlying math click — not just the procedure.

Step 03

Practice with Support

Guided practice in a small-group setting, where students can ask questions freely and tutors can spot misunderstandings as they happen.

Step 04

Apply & Build On

New skills get reinforced through games and word problems before moving to the next concept — so the foundation actually holds.

Who It’s For

Built for the student in front of us.

Math tutoring works for kids at very different starting points. The goal is the same; the path is custom.

Falling Behind

For students who’ve fallen behind grade level and need targeted help to catch up — without the embarrassment of getting it wrong in front of a classroom.

Homework Help

For students who can mostly keep up in class but get stuck on homework — and need consistent support so the wheels don’t come off.

Ready to Race Ahead

For students already strong in math who want enrichment and challenge — the chance to dig deeper and work above grade level.

Parent FAQ

Common questions.

How small are the groups?
Small. Each group is sized so tutors can give every student individual attention while still giving kids the benefit of working alongside peers at similar levels. We’d rather cap a group than dilute attention.
Why is the Grades 1–3 program only 30 minutes?
Because that’s what works at that age. Younger kids do their best math learning in high-focus, short windows. A 60-minute session at age 6 isn’t a longer lesson — it’s a shorter lesson followed by 30 minutes of fading attention. The 30-minute format is intentional.
Will this help my child catch up in school?
That’s exactly what we’re built for. Most students see their school grades improve within a quarter or two — not because we drill for tests, but because the underlying concepts finally make sense.
What if my child is actually ahead in math, not behind?
Then they’ll get enrichment and challenge work that moves above grade level. Tutoring isn’t only remediation — it’s also for kids who need more than what a standard classroom can offer.
How often should sessions meet?
Weekly is the sweet spot for most students. Twice-weekly is common for kids working through bigger gaps or preparing for a specific test or transition.
How does scheduling work?
Sessions run after school and on weekends, with flexible enrollment year-round. Contact us with your preferred times and we’ll match you to an open group.
